CHURCH DOOR COLLECTION next weekend in aid of Outreach Moldova which is an organisation helping physically handicapped children/teenagers in orphanages in Moldova.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY: Now that the Parish Centre is open, we hope to relaunch the Children’s Liturgy Programme for Primary School pupils. To be successful many volunteers will be required. If you can help by giving an hour on a rota basis on Sunday mornings, please contact the Parish Office with your details.

PARISH VISITATION TEAMthe newly formed Parish Visitation Team is now ready to visit elderly and housebound parishioners who would appreciate such a visit. If you would like them to visit you, please contact the Parish Office to leave your name and address.

ENROLMENT TO PRIMARY SCHOOL – any child whose 4th birthday falls on or before 1 July 2009 will have reached compulsory school age in September 2009 and must commence primary education. Application forms for admission to Year 1 are available from both St Brigid’s and St Colmcille’s Primary Schools. The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 21 January 2009. Parents and children due to commence school in September are invited to the Primary Schools’ Open Nights: St Brigid PS – Thursday 15 January from 6.30pm-7.30pm. St Colmcille’s PS – Monday 19 January 6.30pm-7.30pm.

The pupils of St Colmcille’s Primary School are once again collecting covers from old Yellow Pages Directories to take part in a recycling competition. We are appealing for your help to increase our chances of winning! Please leave your old Yellow Pages covers in the boxes provided in each of three churches. Thank you for your continued help and support.

CONFIRMATION OF CHILDREN with Special Needs – Are you the parent of a child with severe or profound multiple learning difficulties? If so, you might be interested to know that your child could be confirmed at a diocesan Confirmation ceremony for special schools as an alternative to the parish celebration. FORTHCOMING EVENTS:

The Road to Santiago – A Pilgrims tale – For more than a thousand years pilgrims have travelled to Santiago to visit the tomb of the Apostle St James. Last year a parishioner, Frank Magee, completed this journey. He will give a first hand account of his experience in the Parish Centre on Thursday 22 January at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome.

PRE MARRIAGE COURSE New Year 2009 (updated version) – new dates have now been set for Marriage Preparation Courses in the Antrim area for New Year 2009. These will be held in The All Saints’ Parish Centre, Cushendall Rd. Course 1 Saturday 14 and Saturday 21 March 12.30pm-5pm. Course 2 Tuesdays 5, 12, 19 May from 7pm-10pm. Attendance is required over all 3 evenings or both Saturdays and the course costs £80 per couple. It is recommended that couples complete the course at least 10 months prior to getting married. ALL SAINTS YOUTH CLUB will be starting a New Day Programme for members of the Parish aged 16+ commencing January 2009. The New Day Programme invites young people to explore their own identity, faith and culture and challenges young people to recognise the Presence of God in every person in our society from whatever faith or ethnic background. The Programme will run for eight weeks and uses a mixture of fun activities and group discussions. Please contact Allison Connolly at All Saints Youth Club on 25642869 for further details.

The Youth Club will re-open on Monday 5 January. Please note that all parents of junior children should check whether their child has been admitted to the Club before leaving the car park. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and parents a Happy Christmas and New Year and thank everyone for their continued support.
